Overview

Rotarians are people of action who voluntarily promote integrity, goodwill, peace support the environment, and aim for a world free of poliovirus. Rotary District 9600 serves communities in Queensland, Australia, in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Nauru. We are part of Rotary International - a network of 1,2+ million Rotarians in over 32,000 Clubs around the world, all dedicated to making the world a better place through promotion of peace, cultural understanding, and service to the community alongside other like-minded individuals, community and business leaders. With Rotary you can gain leadership experience and establish a strong network of like-minded individuals. Rotary Clubs operate independently with the support of the District, and often come together to work on joint projects and celebrate big events. The head of the Rotary District is the District Governor. Each District is part of 6 worldwide Zones, with Australia being part of Zone 8. Our efforts include, but are not limited, to aim for a poliovirus-free world.
