Roorkee College of Engineering was launched and promoted by Chartered Accountant S.K. Gupta in 2010 with a view to provide high quality technical education to the regional aspirants in general and localite rural poor in particular. The Campus is located at the outskirts of Roorkee Town on the Roorkee Haridwar Canal Road near Bajuheri. It has a covered area of 1,50,000 sq. ft comprising huge administrative block and five storey academic block. The Institute is currently running the following 04 Year B.Tech, 02 Year M.Tech & 03 Year Diploma Programmes affiliated by Uttarakhand Technical University: All the programs run on semester basis. All B Tech programs are of four years i.e. eight semesters duration. Odd semester runs between July to Dec and Even semester between Jan to June. In addition to regular semesters three mid-term exams are conducted during each semester for continuous evaluating the performance of the students. The college provides well furnished hostel accommodation to its students, separately for boys and girls. The hostels provide reasonable levels of comfort, hygienic food, recreation facilities and an environment conducive for pursuit of academic and all round development. All the rooms have been designed to provide adequate moving space and ample air and light. The college has a wide range of accommodation options and most students find that these options suit to their needs. There are rooms ranging from single seater to three seater.
