Overview
Robogals is an international, not-for-profit student-led organisation established in 2008 which aims to inspire, engage and empower young women into STEM related fields. As of 2017, Robogals has over 30 chapters across Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, the UK, Canada, the USA, South Africa, Indonesia and Japan. In 2011, Robogals Global welcomed the Canberra chapter into its family, and in 2012, Marita Cheng won Young Australian of the Year for her work with Robogals. Over 60000 girls have participated in a Robogals workshop worldwide since its establishment. In 2017 Robogals Canberra facilitated over 70 school workshops in Canberra and the surrounding region. We also participated in 15 community-wide events such as National Science Week, International Women's Day and drop-in workshops at Questacon and the National Museum of Australia. Robogals Canberra was the Runner-Up in the Group Achievement Category of the 2018 Canberra Young Citizen of the Year Awards, and our President Morgan Marshall was the Runner-Up in the individual category.
