Overview

The RF & Antennas research group at RMIT University has undertaken various research projects in the fields of near field imaging, CW and FMCW radar systems, non-linear composite surfaces/high impedance surfaces, localisation of wireless transponders, collision avoidance radar for UAVs, autonomous systems, multi-function apertures, wireless systems for vehicular access, multifunctional structures and submarine mast signatures. Our Academic staff and Research Fellows have expertise in RF/microwave devices and systems, antennas, composite structures, signal processing and embedded systems. The capabilities of RF & Antennas research group include: Antenna design Frequency selective surfaces/ meta-materials/meta-surfaces Material design and characterisation (RF) Small scale signatures/ RCS / ISAR Scattering phenomena, mitigation and measurement RF/wireless localisation Active and passive microwave circuits Radar system design and signal processing Suite of simulation capabilities (ADS, CST, HFSS, SystemVue) Full RF measurement capabilities with automated fully anechoic chambers covering 1-110GHz Antenna outdoor range covering 300 MHz to 1 GHz. LTCC fabrication technology.
