Restraint Reduction Network

Overview

The Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) is a registered charity (1187984) with an ambitious vision to prevent the unnecessary use of restrictive practices in health and social care and education. The RRN seeks to create a culture that is trauma informed and respects human rights across education, health and social care services so that services are safe, dignified and respect people’s autonomy and wellbeing, and reduce reliance on restrictive practices. As a network of committed organisations and individuals, the RRN achieves this mission by sharing learning, developing quality standards and practical tools to support restraint reduction, and by working across sectors to promote culture change. Joining the network is free and you can join as an individual, as an organisation, or both. Join the Restraint Reduction Network today and demonstrate your commitment to reducing restrictive practices. The Restraint Reduction Network Training Standards are a set of ethical training standards that protect human rights and support the minimisation of restrictive practices. It is now a statutory requirement in England that organisations delivering training on restrictive practices in mental health and learning disability settings must be certified as meeting the RRN Training Standards.
