RELEASE ATHENS FESTIVAL

Overview

A major Music Festival in Athens! Launched in 2016, Release Athens has become one of the most important summer music events in Athens and across Greece, hosted mainly in Plateia Nerou, a beautiful open - air venue right by the sea within minutes of downtown Athens. With extroversion and optimism as its main mottos, against the turbulent times where the festival took its form, Release Athens rejuvenated the local entertainment scene, believing in the liberating power of music – from which, after all, it took its name. The vision Release Athens strives to satisfy as many musical genres as possible, without any limits or boundaries. Our vision is to offer the Greek -and not only- audience the opportunity to enjoy quality shows of high standards in safety & comfort, creating unique musical memories that last a lifetime. Since the first day of its existence, it has presented a multitude of outstanding artists: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Slipknot, Liam Gallagher, Pet Shop Boys, London Grammar, Bauhaus, Parov Stelar, Judas Priest, Sabaton, Iggy Pop, New Order, Alice in Chains, Cypress Hill, Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, Hozier, Manowar, Disturbed, Clutch, Jamiroquai, Richard Ashcroft, Thievery Corporation, Parov Stelar, Royksopp, Moderat, Archive, Pj Harvey, Beirut, The Jesus & Mary Chain , Anthrax, James, Johnny Marr, Fu Manchu are some of the acts who have graced the festival with their presence so far, and there is much more to come. Our promise Release Athens returns bigger and better year after year, thanks to the music loving community that has embraced it to the extent of becoming the ultimate destination for festival goers of the country. This recognition inspires, empowers, fills us with energy and motivates our team to keep optimizing Release Athens at all levels, ensuring a unique experience in every aspect, offering true excitement and excellent services to all those who honour us with their presence - artists & audience.
