The mission of the Racial Unity Team (RŪT pronounced root) is to advance relationships among people of different racial identities, to increase understanding, and reduce racial bias in our communities. Our Vision - To lay a foundation for developing racial understanding by establishing a transformational goal of developing a community that promotes racial diversity and understanding in the following areas: • Develop a generation of Granite Staters who are not only not racist but who are actively anti racist. • Assure that all history is true history and missing history is incorporated into our school curriculum. • Be a resource for our state to help educate its citizens why diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging makes good business sense. • Partner with like-minded organizations to achieve our common goals. • Foster pathways for truth and reconciliation to bring healing and transformation. • Work to ensure equitable structures & opportunities for all Granite Staters.
