Overview

Purple Soup provides challenging, activity-based programs for children and their families affected by chronic illness. Established by Director Tim Marchinton in 2002, Purple Soup uses the therapeutic aspects of adventure to rebuild confidence, self-esteem, trust and courage. In the past 13 years Purple Soup has created thousands of moments in which young people and their families have had the opportunity to reap the emotional and psychosocial rewards gained by stepping outside their comfort zone and challenging themselves - within a safe, fun environment. Purple Soup runs specialised adventure therapy programs for young patients, siblings, young carers and whole families. Our adventure therapy clients include organisations such as ozED, Cystic Fibrosis Victoria, Haemophilia Foundation Victoria and Epilepsy Action Australia. We design and deliver a variety of exciting day programs as well as overnight and weekend camps right across Australia. As Purple Soup receives no government funding or philanthropy, we have established Purple Soup Team Building, which offers a wide range of professional team-building products to corporate groups. We then channel the profits from these activities back into our adventure therapy programs, thereby reducing the costs to these clients.
