Research

Overview

The Population Research Centre (PRC) in the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen is an internationally-oriented, demographic research and training institute. An international orientation is the dominant characteristic of the PRC. Research is conducted at the international level and PhD researchers and Master's students come to the PRC from all over the world. The University of Groningen is the only university in the Netherlands where students can obtain a Master's degree in Population Studies. The research programme of PRC, entitled 'Population and Wellbeing in Context', refers to research on the issues of population and health as embedded in the sociocultural and spatial context in which people live. The research is part of and fits within the research programme of the Faculty of Spatial Sciences entitled 'towards Well-being, Innovation and Spatial Transformation' (tWIST).
