Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia (PMII), or Indonesian Islamic Student Movement is one of the student organizations that relies on Islamic and Indonesian commitment. PMII was established in Surabaya on 21 July 1379 H on (April 17, 1960). Now, PMII has more than 200 branches spread all over the archipelago. PMII aims to educate the nation's cadres and form an Indonesian Muslim person who is devoted to Allah SWT, virtuous, knowledgeable, skilled, intelligent and ready to practice his knowledge with full responsibility. PMII has historically been a pioneer, reformer and bearer of the intellectual mandate in enhancing the dignity of the Indonesian people.
