Overview

Plataforma de Organizaciones de Pacientes is a Spanish non-profit organisation comprised of 36 entities, which in turn bring together more than 1,800 regional and local associations working to place the patient at the epicentre of the health and social systems. With more than 1,000,000 members, 12,000 staff, and 70,000 volunteers, the Platform combines experience, effort, and work to raise the voice of people with chronic health needs. We defend the rights of patients in all areas, policies and actions that affect their lives to achieve a better quality of life and their full inclusion in society. Chronicity is the common denominator of the Platform’s members. These entities represent pathologies linked to oncological diseases, immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, neurological diseases, diabetes, mental health, rare diseases, cardiopathies, kidney, liver and heart diseases, HIV AIDS, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, spinal cord injuries and brain damage.
