Overview
Our Mission The Pittsburgh Schweitzer Fellows Program (PSFP) develops leaders in the direct service of improving health, promoting well-being, and advancing social and environmental justice for at-risk communities and underserved populations. Our Fellowship Program The Pittsburgh Schweitzer Fellows Program is a leadership training program that prepares future leaders in both for-profit and non-profit arenas to address the health and human service needs of at-risk communities and underserved populations. PSFP provides students with a multidisciplinary team-based experience in improving the health of the local community by examining social determinants of health and structural, environmental, and systemic issues that impact population health within the context of health equity. As part of the national Albert Schweitzer Fellowship, our program utilizes Dr. Albert Schweitzer's principles coupled with a direct-service, servant leadership model that incorporates an understanding of the social determinants of health that affect health outcomes for our community's most vulnerable people.
