Physis is a National Committee of IAPS - International Association of Physics Students. Physis was established in 1991 with the purpose of organizing the ICPS - International Conference of Physics Students in 1992, and since then, it has been involved in several other projects, the most relevant being the annual conference ENEF, the Portuguese National Conference of Physics Students. In the course of its years of history, the board of Physis has been based in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra, and currently has its headquarters in the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the University of Coimbra, where it is constituted mainly, but not exclusively, by students of this same university.
