Partnerships for Social Protection (P4SP)

International Trade and Development

Overview

Partnerships for Social Protection (P4SP) is an Australian Government initiative to develop formal social protection systems in Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste. We partner with governments to design and strengthen national social protection systems and support networking, learning and knowledge sharing on social protection, grounded in experience and evidence from countries in the region. National social protection systems deliver direct assistance, often in the form of cash transfers, to people when they need it the most. Programs may provide financial relief during times of crisis such as disasters and offer support to vulnerable groups including children, people who have lost work, the elderly, people with disabilities, and poor families.
