Overview

OWIT was established in 1989 as a global association for women in international trade and business. It was established in the United States of America. OWIT serves as the unifying body of a network of chapters spanning the globe in the Americas, Western Europe, and Africa. There are 2,000-plus members who impact hundreds of millions of dollars in trade and business transactions annually. OWIT’s focus is on adding value to corporate, mid-sized, small business and individual members around the world. In Africa there are three chapters in Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt. The Kenyan Chapter is known as OWIT-Nairobi Chapter and is an affiliate of OWIT International. OWIT Nairobi is part of a global network of 53 independently operated voluntary trade associations located around the world, and united for a single mission; supporting the advancement of women in international trade and business. OWIT Nairobi was established in 2001 and currently has an active membership of over 100 women who are actively trading. Our Vision Empowering women to transform communities through global trade.
