Overview

Our mission is to create a media company that prevents the erasure of our culture while creating an entire media ecosystem that women of color socially and financially benefit from at every stage. Media is at the core of culture and transcends into almost everything around us. It’s also how we learn to see ourselves and think of ourselves, and as history has shown us, when someone else is holding the pen (or the camera) they tend to get it damagingly wrong. This is why at Our Gente, we’re taking back the pen and reshaping narratives by writing them ourselves.
