Overview

The Omani British Lawyers Association (OBLA) is an organisation with the objective of promoting fellowship and good relations between legal professionals and law students in the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman. OBLA is a forum within which lawyers working in both jurisdictions can exchange ideas and information, share views on topics of mutual interest, hold conferences on topical issues and develop training opportunities. OBJECTIVES 1. To promote fellowship and good understanding and improve relations between the legal professions in the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman; 2. To develop and strengthen legal, business and cultural links between lawyers in the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman and to support the role of lawyers and the law; 3. To promote and organise professional and social events and congresses of United Kingdom and Omani lawyers on matters of common interest; 4. To create a directory for business networking and to exchange information and ideas in relation to professional training, access to justice and other legal topics; and 5. To do all things necessary and incidental to these objects and to co-operate with other British or Omani associations for the furtherance of these objects.
