Overview

The New Zealand-Fiji Business Council is a membership-based organisation with members throughout New Zealand. Members come from a variety of industry sectors including individual consultants, SMEs and some of New Zealand’s largest companies. The Council has a sister organisation based in Fiji, the “Fiji New Zealand Business Council (FNZBC)”. Both organisations collaborate on a number of events including business missions and joint annual conferences. Collectively the councils boast a membership of over 200. Both councils are recognised by their respective governments as the body representing business in their respective countries. Today, both councils provide business networking and advocacy for the members. The NZFBC is very active, with networking events, Ministerial meetings and regular newsletter updates. Fiji is New Zealand’s largest trading partner in the Pacific and in the top twenty internationally. Two-way trade has been in growth mode, with trade in goods and services surpassing a billion dollars. The councils’ membership has grown in response to this vibrant economic relationship. The council works closely with and is supported by the Fiji New Zealand Business Council, the Fiji Trade Commission Office in New Zealand, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Pacific Trade Invest (NZ), and engages with the Fiji High Commission in Wellington and the New Zealand High Commission in Fiji. If you are a New Zealand business doing work in Fiji, working with Fijian businesses, investing in Fiji or looking to do build a relationship, then you should look to become a member of the NZFBC.
