Overview

North Kimberly Airport (formerly known as Mungalalu Truscott Airbase) is an airlines/aviation company based out of 8/9 Swan Cres, Winnellie, Australia. The name change comes as part of planned, ongoing upgrades to the airport, which has been managed by the North Kimberley Airport Pty Ltd for more than 20 years. The 46 square kilometre airport is the largest all-weather airport in the region. Located on the Anjo Peninsula, the North Kimberley Airport is situated 520 km west-southwest of Darwin and 617 km northeast of Broome. It provides 1800 metres of sealed runway for aviation operations in the Kimberley and Timor Sea area, facilitating light aircraft, helicopters, and jets. The airport primarily serves the offshore oil and gas fields in the Timor Sea as well as hosting the Royal Flying Doctors Service and Aeromedical Retrieval and Search & Rescue (S.A.R.) capabilities.
