Overview

NGO Committee to Stop Trafficking in Persons (CSTIP) is dedicated to stopping human trafficking in all its forms through education, advocacy, research, and monitoring compliance with United Nations treaties, protocols, laws, and resolutions. The Committee recognizes the urgency of: - Raising awareness of trafficking in persons as a violation of Human Rights - Ensuring action at the UN to address the underlying causes of human trafficking - Advocating for provision of services to victims/survivors - Members taking action in their respective countries to promote and advance the ending of human trafficking in all its forms. NGO CSTIP members are a powerful voice against human trafficking. Our goals include: - Initiating actions that address this serious problem both locally and at the UN, since trafficking in persons occurs within countries and across national borders. - Facilitating organizing at all levels, especially the grassroots, access to UN processes and agencies, and collaboration with current anti-human trafficking campaigns. - Advocating for stronger mechanisms to monitor compliance with commitments to prevent, protect and prosecute under the Palermo Protocols and the International Labor Organization. - Supporting efforts that provide services to victims of trafficking in persons.
