Overview

Registered in 2013 as an NGO and Social Enterprise in Kenya, the organization has mainly been engaged in activities around addressing energy poverty, combating climate change and promoting social enterprises for women and youth in cultivation of oil crops. To date, we have impacted positively atleast 88,546 families with a clean cookstove, 81,985 families with solar lamps, 28 families with a biogas system, and planted 1,752,189 trees in addition to thousands of acres of oil crop farms by over 2000 farmers. That's about 250,000 families directly impacted by our work in our 2013-2022 strategy period, about 2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided by our cookstoves, unlimited tonnes of Co2 sequestered by the trees we have planted and over 200,000 tonnes of methane gas captured by our biogas systems. In the new 5-year strategy period, we want to create partnerships with like-minded organizations to contribute to reducing #energypoverty and be part of the enablers of attaining #sdg3, #sdg7, and #sdg13. We are developing multiyear projects for communities, with our partners, and our target is 500,000 solar lamps, 500,000 Clean cooking clay jikos, 10 million trees, 200,000 E-cooking devices and 2,000 biogas systems by 2025. Our research team is continually looking into new technologies, through our Private arm, Ngece Rinjeu Technologies.
