Overview

We are Newcastle Locomotive, a team of Mechanical Engineering Masters Students at Newcastle University, and we will be designing and manufacturing a locomotive to take to the IMechE Railway Challenge Competition. The IMechE Railway Challenge is an annual competition hosted by the IMechE in which teams design and manufacture 10¼” gauge locomotives to compete in a series of track-based and presentation-based challenges. This year’s competition will be held at Stapleford Miniature Railway in Leicestershire this June.
