Overview

The New Zealand Council for Educational Research (NZCER) | Rangahau Mātauranga o Aotearoa is an independent research and development organisation. Our purpose centres on whakatere tōmua / wayfinding. Whakatere tōmua is our mahi. Our purpose—through research, resources, and services—is to find ways for kaiako, ākonga, and whānau to have the best possible education experiences and outcomes. We deliver quality research to influence education policy and practice. • We aim to improve learning by influencing education policy and practice. • We are actively committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to help us uphold mana Māori, whakamana Māori. • We strive for high quality research. Research is integral to the publications, resources, services, evaluations, and advice we provide. We carry out research for a wide range of public and private sector clients and we produce research-based products and services for the education sector from the early years through to tertiary and learning at work. We have a unit specialising in kaupapa Māori research. Our products and services include educational journals, books, tests, surveys and an online marking and analysis service for schools. NZCER includes Psychological Test Services (PTS), which supplies and provides advice on a wide range of psychometric tests for use in education, clinical psychology and human resources.
