Overview

Founded in 1994, SWEP has embraced the mission of personal and professional development of women in the environmental professions. Through networking opportunities, student outreach and information exchange our goal is to expand the influence of women in environmental business, law, policy, and science. NJSWEP chapter meetings and events are an opportunity for environmental professionals to connect, network, and develop both personally and professionally. Membership benefits include periodic news updates, regular seminars, networking luncheons and cocktail events, and mentoring opportunities. Members also have the opportunity to become involved in NJSWEP’s chapter leadership where they have the opportunity to steer the direction of the organization through our scholarship program, member programming and events, and administration of our Growing Great Women in the Garden State Award. NJSWEP's overall mission is: To encourage and promote the leadership, achievement, and professional development of women in the environmental professions; To provide an informal setting for women in the environmental professions to meet, share substantive information and work experiences, and establish a communication's exchange; To educate members on new developments and current trends in the environmental field; and To encourage and promote public service in the environmental field.
