Overview

Founded in 2014 and chartered by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Nuclear Engineering Student Society (NESS) is the first nuclear engineering student society in Malaysia. NESS, as a student chapter affiliated to the Malaysian Nuclear Society (MNS), receive exceptional support from national and international bodies, agencies and industries such as the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, Malaysia Nuclear Agency, Malaysian Nuclear Power Corporation (MNPC), Atomic Energy Licensing Board (AELB) and also the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). Since its establishment in 2014, NESS has accomplished remarkable success by developing and supporting its diverse network of strategically planned professional developments and engagement programs such as Nuclear Delegation to Bangkok 2014, International Nuclear Science, Technology and Engineering Conference (iNuSTEC 2014), Nuclear Youth Congress 2015, Nuclear Awareness Camp (NuCamp), De Fermi Debate Competition (2015-2017), Nuclear Youth Summit 2017, Intervarsity Nuclear Debate Challenge 2018 and also the International Nuclear Science, Technology and Engineering Conference (iNuSTEC 2018). NESS with its members from different backgrounds, ethnicities and nationalities work synergistically with national and international bodies, agencies and also industries to educate youth and community around about the truths of nuclear technologies, in an effort to help the society to differentiate between facts and myths of nuclear technology.
