Overview

The Nelson Mandela Bay Pride 224-437 NPO is a registered non-profit organization run by 100% volunteers, with a passion for Nelson Mandela Bay and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) community and their friends and families. The members of the board have all been involved in various LGBTQ+ events, including previous Prides, sport bids and pageants, and bring all this experience together in organizing the annual Pride event. The mission of NMB Pride is: - to educate both the general public and local LGBTQ+ community about LGBTQ+ culture, current events and community concerns; - to celebrate the history, heritage and accomplishments of LGBTQ+ people; - to create an environment for advocacy, networking, outreach, support services and leadership opportunities for LGBTQ+ people, their families and friends; and - raise awareness of the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community on a daily basis, including discrimination, hatred, mental and physical health. The purpose of NMB Pride event is to celebrate the rich diversity of the LGBTQ+ culture and community.
