Overview

The National Coalition for LGBTQ Health is committed to improving the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other gender and sexual minority individuals and communities. Our diverse membership includes health departments, health centers, hospital systems, non-profits, advocacy organizations, health care providers, and others. The Coalition's critical mission includes public education, coalition building and advocacy. This mission is driven by research and aggregation of information necessary to document and advance the health care needs of LGBT Americans and augmented through capacity building for our members and partners. HealthHIV manages and leads the Coalition. We celebrate the dedication and resiliency of the LGBT community, its organizations and allies who have achieved and accomplished significant progress throughout the Coalition's 15-year existence. Even with social acceptance, increased legal protections, and improved funding for LGBT specific health services, training programs, and research, much work remains to be completed. The Coalition is committed to improving public and private sector policies, laws, and regulations regarding LGBT health and related issues. We are dedicated to increasing resources to expand culturally competent health care and social services delivery to a diverse and inclusive LGBT population. The Coalition also develops and disseminates comprehensive knowledge regarding LGBT health status, access to and utilization of health care and other health related information.
