Overview
NCCAP was established in 1986 as the official credential of the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP). Our certifications ensure the skills and competencies to deliver person-centered care across the continuum of long-term care. Mandated by Federal Regulation, life-enriching activities are essential for the physical, mental and psycho-social well-being of the aging population. NCCAP ensures a caregiver is competent to engage older persons with diverse levels of cognition, physical function and diagnoses, thereby enhancing overall health and quality of life. Recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), NCCAP Certifications reflect the latest science, evidence and regulatory requirements to address the changing needs of the older adults. From traditional Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living Communities, Adult Day Centers and care provided to someone aging in place at home, NCCAP-certified caregivers deliver the highest quality person-centered care.
