Overview

NAMI Rhode Island is the Ocean State's organization of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We seek to connect those who are living with mental illness and their friends and family members with their peers, so that we may join together in support, education, and advocacy efforts to improve the lives and outcomes of individuals and families affected by mental illness. We offer NAMI's signature Family to Family Program several times each year in various locations throughout Rhode Island. The 12-week course is free to anyone over 18 who has a family member with a mental illness diagnosis. This fall, we re-launch NAMI's signature Peer to Peer Program. This 10-week course is offered free of charge to anyone trying to live in recovery with a mental illness. We also offer both family and peer support groups. If your organization or school would like to hear about the experience of living with mental illness from those who experience it, contact us about our Inside Mental Illness program. We have trained NAMI members who can come to your group and share their stories of living with mental illness and living into recovery.
