Overview

The Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS) is the Umbrella body for students studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security and all IT related courses in Nigeria and has been in existence over two decades , NACOS can boast of its presence in almost all tertiary institutions in Nigeria (including privately owned). With a membership strength of about Three hundred and fifty thousand (350,000) in over two hundred and fifty (250) local chapters (and counting) in different tertiary institutions (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education) across the six (6) geo-political zones of the federation, thus making the association the largest and most organized student body in West Africa and the only student association with a parent body Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) governing it affairs. As part of the efforts to drive and foster computing/ IT enhancement, local content drive and “game-changing” innovation in Nigeria, NACOS is playing at the forefront in the students' environment. One of our primary goals is to empower a new crop of innovative and creative young men and women, who will add technological value to every sector of the economy and solve real problems. Therefore, we are focused on empowering entrepreneurs on their journey to build great ideas out of little or nothing. We work with Start-ups at every stage of maturity to provide the tools, resources, knowledge and expertise they need to succeed. We also play a leadership role in mentoring, nurturing dialogue, disseminating knowledge and re-wiring the ecosystem through different community and grouped based efforts that are geared towards building a generation of new techpreneurs, entrepreneurs, software developers and an army of skilled and employable young people matching industry needs in priority sectors.
