Overview

Since 2020, myGermany GmbH and Duisburger Hafen AG have been organizing the export of German products to China (mainland) in a joint venture called “myGermany-Store powered by duisport GmbH”. In China, we operate our own online stores (marketplaces) on Chinese platforms (such as JD.com), and sell goods from German manufacturers to Chinese end customers there. The purpose of the joint venture is to market goods from European, primarily German, production to commercial and private end customers in China by way of online trade under the Chinese cross-border eCommerce scheme. In this way, we make the Chinese market accessible to medium-sized companies and reduce the existing imbalance in the flow of goods between China and Germany. Thanks to the purchasing framework agreements in the legal area of Germany, German manufacturers do not have to deal with the hurdles of selling in China – we take care of that for our partners. We also handle the export and import customs formalities for the German manufacturers on their own responsibility locally in Germany. We sell and market our partners’ products exclusively on the Chinese market via the Internet of the People’s Republic of China. In doing so, we also provide product-specific customer support in Chinese as well as place online campaigns with imagery geared towards the Chinese market and distribute the products on the most important social media channels such as WeChat (messaging app) or Sina Weibo (micro-blogging).
