Overview

The Melbourne University Civil & Structural Society (MUCSS) is the official infrastructure faculty-based student-run body for all Civil and Structural Engineering students at The University of Melbourne. MUCSS aims to foster the professional and personal development of both current students and alumni by creating a strong cohort within the Civil and Structural Engineering community. This is achieved via professional networking and industry events, site visits, technical workshops (eg: AutoCAD), study sessions, regular social events such as barbecues, trivia and game nights, and pub nights. MUCSS’ annual flagship events: the Infrastructure Engineering Networking Night and End of Year Cocktail Night, are not to be missed and are a staple in the Faculty of Engineering and IT calendar every year. Since the society’s inception in 2013, MUCSS has continually delivered high quality events and initiatives to student members. Each year MUCSS hosts a range of professional networking and upskilling events for students enabling them to find their place within the industry. These events, attended by over 300 students every year, include webinars, panel discussions, podcasts, workshops, and technical showcases featuring MUCSS’ Industry Sponsors, Alumni and a variety of Civil and Structural Engineering firms. ------------------------------------------- MUCSS acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work. We acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this region, especially within the engineering community.
