MISTER PET - ITALY

Overview

Its history dates back to 1838 when it purchased the first farm on the hills of the Reggio Emilia Apennines, where it bred cattle, pigs, sheep, poultry and rabbits. The subsequent generations, in the 1930s, expanded the activity with the production of Parmigiano Reggiano, and used the resulting whey, supplemented with the harvested grains, to feed the pigs. It is in this unspoiled environment, consisting of meadows, woods and fresh water springs, that the generation that is currently managing the company has grown up. Surrounded by pets since their childhood, in the 70s they started thinking about how to make feed for dogs and cats, which would satisfy their nutritional needs and would use the surplus products of meat and grain food consumptions. The experience as farmers was essential for the choice and preservation of foods. 1984 – The company Racof was set up in Rubianino di Quattro Castella (Reggio Emilia), the first plant specialized in preserving meat intended for the production of Pet Food. The company was quickly appreciated by important producers of wet pet foods, both in Italy and in the rest of Europe, and trusted by its suppliers, which it carefully selected according to quality standards of excellence. Over the years, it progressively increased volumes and sales reaching the complete saturation of its production capacity. 1995 – The Mister Pet company was set up, initially to produce and sell natural dried animal products, such as pig's ears, beef nerves, semi-wet snacks, ham bones. Also Mister Pet has established itself in the following years on the market, gradually expanding its customer portfolio and later moving to the building next to Racof's. 1999 - To meet the growing demand, a considerable investment was made to purchase a shed with offices for a total surface area of about 35,000 square meters, of which 10,000 square meters roofed, in Mamiano di Traversetolo (Parma).
