Overview

MRCB George Kent Sdn Bhd (MRCB George Kent) is the project delivery partner (PDP) appointed by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd to undertake the design and construction work of the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) project. MRCB George Kent is a joint venture company between Bursa Malaysia listed Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) and George Kent (M) Bhd to specifically undertake the LRT3 project. MRCB is currently the largest developer cum contractor of Transit Oriented Developments (TODs) in Malaysia, while George Kent is a leading engineering company and top home-grown railway system specialist in Malaysia. MRCBGK brings to the LRT3 project a highly-skilled and professional staff pool experienced in transit projects, with tailored and cost-effective solutions specific to Prasarana’s needs in a collaborative and supportive manner. Compared to the traditional practice of using a project management consultant to manage the project, the PDP model allows the LRT3 project to be rolled out efficiently in phases as opposed to appointing a turnkey contractor. The PDP model also provides a single point of accountability for the entire project, with the PDP assuming the risks of cost overruns or delays.
