Overview

According to the WHO, every seventh person in Togo suffers from malaria every year. While treatable and highly preventable, malaria remains one of the most common causes of death worldwide - especially in regions with poor access to common preventive measures such as sprays or nets such as Vogan, Togo. In order to tackle this issue, we have developed a body lotion that reliably keeps malaria-carrying mosquitoes away for up to four hours, thus offering preventive care against the disease. As most Togolese households already use body lotions as part of their daily routines, switching to a mosquito repelling lotion requires neither a change of habits, nor signifies a financial burden for the families: it is then the easiest way to implement malaria protection into everyday life. Always keeping the SDGs goals “Good Health and Well-being” as well “Decent Work and Economic Growth” in mind, we follow a business model that puts citizens’ livelihoods first, focuses on sustainable, local production and that once started, will create decent job opportunities for young Togolese women and men. Our vision? A world where protection against malaria is not a question of money.
