Overview
The Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Prince George’s County Division consists of 125 authorized sworn personnel, 29 civilian employees and approximately 40 volunteers. The Maryland-National Capital Park Police is a full service law enforcement agency tasked with protecting approximately 27,000 acres of park property in Prince George’s County, as well as those who visit and staff M-NCPPC sites. Today’s M-NCPPC properties in Prince George's County include historic sites, regional parks, sports arenas, community centers, arts venues, aquatic facilities, ice skating rinks, museums, natural areas, trails and other types of recreation amenities. The Park Police Division consists of Patrol Services, Investigative Services, and Support Operations. Methods of patrol and specialty units include motorcycle, mountain bike, K-9, horse mounted, and T-3. The Park Police Division is very Community-oriented, and has numerous programs providing positive interaction between the police, citizens, and youth in the community.
