Overview

The Mission of the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health is to improve oral health with all Missourians by advocating for sound public policy. Our Vision: Oral Health for all Missourians! Principles: Oral health is integral to overall health. All Missourians should have access to comprehensive, high quality health care. Our policy agenda is based on consensus. We are committed to engaging Missourians to provide input and advocacy. We advocate for positive change and improvement of oral health services and the health care system. The Coalition is governed by a Board of Directors and is staffed by an Executive Director and an Office Manager. Coalition members include oral health advocates throughout the state and several organizations, including the Missouri Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Hygienists' Association, the UMKC School of Dentistry, the Missouri Primary Care Association, AT Still University, Area Health Education Centers, Cass County Dental Clinic, Jordan Valley Community Health Clinic, Magical Smiles, Central MO Community Action Head Start, the Department of Mental Health, and the Department of Health and Senior Services, and many others. The Missouri Coalition for Oral Health is supported by the Health Forward Foundation, DentaQuest Partnership and the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. The Coalition was reorganized in 2011 to support strategic work on policy related to oral health. A new Executive Director, Gary Harbison, was hired.
