Overview

The Mining Engineering Program at the University of Nevada, was established in 1886 and is now considered an integral part of Nevada's successful mining history by carrying on the tradition of excellence begun by its namesake, John Mackay, one of the developers of the Comstock Lode silver deposit in Virginia City, NV. Gold. Mining is the second largest industry in Nevada and Nevada is the fourth largest gold producer in the world and Nevada's program in Mining Engineering is one of the best in the United States therefore it's no wonder that Nevada's Mining Engineering graduates are in such high demand and receive multiple job offers all over the world.
