Born in Lisbon in 1989, Miguel Lopo de Carvalho graduated in 2013 as an architect from Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, Switzerland, with Cum Laude in the Diploma - Barcellona, Luoghi di Consolidamento Urbano. After finishing his studies, he returned to Lisbon and worked alongside with two longer tenured partners in various architecture projects ranging from urban redevelopment to retail space development. This four-year formative period was pivotal in equipping Miguel with the required technical skills, commercial acumen, and professional network to strike out on his own and launching Miguel Lopo de Carvalho Arquitectos in 2017. Today Miguel Lopo de Carvalho Arquitectos is a well-established architecture practice operating from Lisbon providing end-to-end design solutions founded on materialized ideas with a notable quality, design, and service. Some of the best examples of its work include the conversion to a luxury apartment in Estoril (Portugal), the redevelopment of a rural manor in Galamares (Portugal), or the renovation of an apartment in Alcântara (Portugal). For the first few years, Miguel Lopo de Carvalho Arquitectos has purposely remained a small and focused operation to preserve the quality of its service but has now set its ambition to growing in Portugal and aims to expand its horizons beyond borders.
