Overview

Micromundo is a film production company that we have created to make documentary films that allow us to deeply explore different realities, and learn stories that we could not access without the excuse of the camera. In each film we share long periods in the lives of our characters, which end up becoming part of our own history. We are a team passionate about sharing life with others. We believe that the limited environments and the intimate stories that we represent allow us to reflect our idiosyncrasies and society. From the portrait of microworlds we agree to represent a complex social environment. Through this approach we want the public to understand reality from other points of view, inviting dialogue and social reflection from an audiovisual work. Our mission is to continue understanding the world from the production of author documentaries in any of its formats, for film, television and online platforms. We have made productions with national and international impact financed by important funds such as ITVS, IDFA Bertha Fund, Sundance, Tribeca, World View, CNC Cinema du Mond, among others. Our work premiered in theaters in different territories and on networks and platforms such as POV, Netflix, YLE, Signal Colombia, EBS, Telefónica España, SRF, among others. In parallel to our productions, we carry out consultancies for documentary projects that we believe are necessary and are in accordance with our objectives. We have been in the market for 10 years now, and we have participated in 140 festivals and received 44 awards in outstanding competitions. We have obtained our achievements thanks to the talent of a team that has immersed itself with us in each microworld. Maite's has directed four feature films: The Lifeguard (2011), Tea Time (2015) and The Grown-Ups (2016). Currently, our film The Mole Agent (2020) is nominated for the Goya Awards 2021, and is the Chilean nominee to the Oscars 2021.
