Mensa aims to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity, to encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence, and to promote stimulating intellectual and social opportunities for its members. Mensa has no affiliation with any ideological political or religious creed, and is constitutionally designed to hold no collective opinion whatsoever. It is a society for individuals of all ages and backgrounds - who possess the same single qualification for membership, which is a score at or above the 98th percentile on any one of a number of standard intelligence tests. Mensa is a genuinely international organisation with contacts in every part of the world. There are currently over 145,000 Mensans in more than 90 countries.
