Overview

Melting IceCubes supports people who live with chronic health conditions or impairment, helping them get on with life. Society often fails to adequately support people who are living through periods where health matters are causing concern. We inadvertently isolate or segregate people and compound the impact of impairment/chronic health – simply because we don't clearly signpost appropriate information and support; also we fail to think about those who have to do things differently on a daily basis. We design, create processes, build and organise for the masses... Then as an afterthought we add 'exception processes' or bolt on inadequate nods to inclusion. Our free service enables users to create a 360˚view of their health query, linking users to relevant information, goods and service. They can also connect with other people who share their experiences and they can build communities if they desire. The site gives people a platform and voice. We will poll for opinion on goods and service experience and collect this MI to create reports that can be used to drive up standards and help shape change. The site will give access to letter templates and information podcasts that build their confidence to be able to manage medical or social care meetings and appeals. Melting IceCubes is not in competition with anyone, rather it is an aggregator of all that exists, but we make it easy for people to locate it because we pull it into one place. The organisation leverages the power of information and:- • Signposts/provides information • Builds awareness • Works to improve health and social care • Drives service improvement • Facilitates cross-service collaboration • Facilitates local community solution delivery • Translates the Disability Act and Care Act into tangible service statements and operational processes • Helps people to feel in control because they have access to information related to their user login/set up Join the conversation from Feb 19 – it's good to talk!
