WHY ARE WE HERE? Have you ever contacted a Recruiter but your phone calls aren’t returned and your emails go unanswered? The harsh reality of the situation is that it isn’t a recruiter’s responsibility to find your next job for you. It’s their job to find the candidates that fit the roles they are tasked with filling. It can be extremely challenging for a recruiter to meet the needs of their client or employer AND find time to talk with the masses of candidates who are contacting them. This is an age old dilemma that has been frustrating candidates and recruiters for as long as I’ve been in this field and that’s a really long time! The struggle is real. And, it’s the reason we are here. The intent behind Meet Carol for Coffee is to help bridge that gap between job seekers and recruiters by sharing information in an online and interactive conversation format that reaches a broader audience. Think of this forum as a Recruiter’s version of Dear Abby with a follow-up discussion. We are here because the truth of the matter is, it's your job to find your next job. But you aren't alone in this. If you need some help along the way - I've got your back! Each week I will select an employment or job search related topic from questions I receive from readers and I will share my opinion, advice and/or coaching regarding that topic in an article. After reading my take on that week’s theme, I encourage you to post your thoughts, opinions and any additional follow-up questions pertaining to that week’s subject so we can have a conversation and dive deeper into that topic. My intent is for this to be an engaging, casual conversation where everyone feels comfortable taking part in an open dialogue and maybe we’ll have some fun along the way too!
