Overview

Located within the ahupua’a, or traditional Hawaiian land division of Ku’ia, which lies in the moku (district) of Lāhaina, our farm began to take shape. Ten acres at a time it was transformed into a verdant green by water flowing from the wao akua (literally, “realm of the gods”), located in the upper reaches of Mauna Kahālāwai, more commonly known as the West Maui Mountains. We now have more than 8,000 trees spread across twenty-plus acres, expanding to more than sixty within the next few years. Our farm will provide the raw material for our world-class chocolate, which is produced at our state of the art Lāhaina factory, the largest in Hawai’i.At Maui Ku‘ia Estate Chocolate we believe in sustainable practices and we understand and accept that it is our kuleana to malama (care for) and cultivate the land, grow single-origin cacao and craft one of the world's finest chocolates—right here in our environmentally friendly Lahaina chocolate factory. These values are embedded in our company’s DNA and shared by all who work here. It is our privilege to be able to give back to the community in which our delicious chocolate is made, by donating 100 percent of our net profits to Maui charities and non-profit community organizations.
