Masibambisane IsiXhosa word describing unity and working as a collective, the company Masibambisane Stationery (Pty) Ltd was founded in October 2018 by Luthando Thomas and his brother in law, who has since left the company to the responsible and capable hands of Luthando. The two brothers recognised an opportunity to start selling stationery packs to households in the community of Khayelitsha using their own cash flow. Luthando started buying then reselling stationery, having identified the need to create access for communities and offer cost effective stationery solutions to communities at large, making a positive impact for the future of communities. The name was created to make emphasis on community building and a brand that is synonymous to the objective desired. The company was created with the aim of inclusion and making cost effective stationery and office supplies accessible to communities. In just under a year since the company was established the vision expanded from just stationery supplies to office supplies and so much more. Masibambisane Stationery has since serviced the Department of Education with stationery, textbooks, cleaning products and equipment along with the Department of Home affairs and the Department of Health. Schools serviced includes, Mfuleni Primary School, Ikaya Primary School and Kulani High School all situated in the Western Cape. Other serviced organizations includes, VPUU in Harare Khayelitsha, Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust, South African Heritage and Resources Agency supplying coffee machines, cleaning equipment, office supplies and office furniture just to mention some of the organizations success to date. Adding value to the company ’s revenue, and building a sustainable financial record and temporary employment for the youth. The business is currently operating in Western Cape. For our corporate social investment we give back to the community by donating stationery to learners whose parents have financial difficulties.
