Overview

MASARY Studios is an interdisciplinary artist collective reconsidering environments through site-specific installations using sound, light, interactivity, and performance. Based in Boston, the studio's practice includes live percussion performance, electronic music and production, facade projection-mapped video, artistic research, technology and materials fabrication, and the expansive use of animation. The studio is artist-owned and managed and was founded in 2015. We are artists, we are performers, we are directors, we are dreamers. MASARY is an interdisciplinary collaborative team with artists at the center. Studio founders and principals are Sam Okerstrom-Lang and Ryan Edwards. The extensive creative and technical team expands out to coders, engineers, architects, designers, architects, percussionists, animators, arts administrators & more. MASARY Studios has been commissioned to create immersive, interdisciplinary work by the Boston Center for the Arts, with support from the Barr-Klarman risk-taking fund, the National Parks Service Art on the Trails to Freedom initiative, TEDx Cambridge at the Boston Opera House, the Aeronaut Brewing Company with support from the Paul R. Judy Center for Innovation and Research, and Boston’s NPR Station, WBUR.
