Overview

The Marsh Center for Chaplain Studies, a chaplain-focused endeavor of B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary and with an extensive advisory team, is building collaborative relationships with seminaries, organizations, and institutions to “equip, support, and advocate for chaplains in all settings.” Through these relationships and networks, the Marsh Center is reaching these objectives by 1) creating collaborative opportunities to develop and share master and doctoral curricular material with fundamental and advanced chaplain competencies; 2) providing an inter-faith forum for supporting, researching, and developing issues and solutions; 3) advocating in the public square to influence and promote effective chaplain ministry. The Marsh Center creates and sponsors webinars with a growing worldwide audience. The Marsh Center continues the legacy of Dr. Gerald E. Marsh, a lifelong seminary professor and a USAF Reserve Major General chaplain. The Marsh Center’s logo, a hurricane lamp, reflects the sacred ministry of chaplains carrying the light of the Holy into stormy and dark places.
