Overview

Market Zero was initially established as an instrumental project in 2005 by Dallas native, Joseph (Joey) Owens. After an extended hiatus, which involved participation in various other musical ventures and a life-changing motorcycle accident, Joey found himself living in a small East Texas town, 100 miles from home. With ample time at his disposal, he eagerly resumed writing, playing, and singing music. The onset of a pandemic and a call to former bandmate Justin Casey led to the reformation of Market Zero as a full-fledged rock 'n' roll duo. Leveraging technology, the pair utilized Zoom meetings and cloud-based file sharing to compose and record music at their own pace – a true embodiment of post-pandemic, DIY rock. In 2021, Market Zero released two singles, "Lemonade" and "Bad Connections," which channel the garage and punk rock vibes of the '60s and '70s. Both tracks quickly gained momentum in North Texas and secured significant radio airtime on multiple stations, including KXT 91.7 FM and Deep Ellum Radio. #founders #music #marketzero #deepellum #dallastexas #indierock
