Overview

Magic Oxygen Publishing was founded by two people who are passionate about many things; their families, local and global environments, amazing vegan food, sustainable lives and they share a common love of the written word. Editor in Chief Simon West is a sustainable soul and a very proud downshifter who now embraces a short commute to his home office in Lyme Regis, Dorset. He understands the constraints and pressures of the publishing industry in these volatile, modern times. With three decades of computer geekage under his belt, he has a firm finger on the pulse of emerging digital technologies and holds a full appreciation for paper copies too. One of his many roles includes responsibility for all of the techno-elements involved in book creation. He has strong relationships with everyone involved in the production process, including the printers, distributors and many of bookshops too. Author and Editor Tracey West is a very non-material girl and a passionate advocate for simple, green living. She also penned the best-selling Book of Rubbish Ideas back in 2008. Tracey is also a Patron of the Women’s Action Network Dorset (the awareness and fundraising arm of the Women’s Refuge in Dorset) and regularly speaks out about women’s issues and domestic violence; she’s also a proud Trustee for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics. Along with a small hand-picked team with exceptional graphic artistry, photography, editing and proofreading skills and more, this small but perfectly formed publishing house is becoming a force to be reckoned with, not least because they believe authors deserves far better revenue than the industry traditionally pays them and that they should have a far greater say when it comes to overall design.
