So what's the LuQuLuQu Tribe all about you ask? Well, we're glad you ask! The LuQuLuQu tribe is an initiative of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, Private Sector Partnerships Africa. Our story starts in 2017 when we first embarked on an ambitious campaign built on the African philosophy of sharing resources and caring for one another. Named LuQuLuQu, the initiative is made up of the best of humanity - a collective of like-minded people that support families forced to flee their homes because of violence and conflict. Our family ethos is #DoItLuQuLuQu. To do it LuQuLuQu means to collectively work together to achieve solutions to the refugee crisis. In doing so, we strive to change the narrative of the African refugee. This means redirecting the perception away from the refugee narrative of victim, burden, or even threat and instead highlight the resilience, courage, and potential of people forced to flee. We believe in investing in the lives of those that are forcibly displaced by supporting their access to education, vocational and livelihoods opportunities and to help restart lives and rebuild self-reliance. LuQuLuQu is a platform to harness the power of good for positive and sustainable growth. And to do #DoitLuQuLuQu means to do it right in this world.
